After a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences from the Department of Bioscience Engineering at Ghent University in Belgium (consistently ranks among the best 100 universities in the world), Dr. Seifi continued his research as a post-doctoral scientist at the Department of Plant Agriculture, University of Guelph (ON) where he conducted research on plant defense mechanisms against economically important fungal and bacterial diseases
► Recently developed a novel, environmentally-friendly formulation that effectively controls economically important plant diseases (patenting in progress).
► Published several research/review papers in high impact journals in the field.
► Drafted and contributed to several successful governmental and private grant applications and project proposals.
► Established bioinformatics pipeline for high throughput wheat genomic data analysis on the SOSCIP high performance computing cloud.
► Researching wheat immune response to fungal diseases through RNA-seq and eQTL analyses at the University of Guelph.
